The South by Southeast Music Feast is a local non-profit/charitable organization formed in 2003 by a group of Myrtle Beach, SC area music lovers and educators to preserve and promote American music not usually heard in traditional venues. Our mission is to provide assistance and support to local music education programs, with our goal being to offset some costs associated with the musical education of young people in our area. In this time of budget cuts and strangulation of funding for the arts, our goal is to help young people in their pursuit of the joys of music.

Recent donations to the Myrtle Beach Middle School Orchestra and Dr. David Bankston's Guitars in the Classroom project are examples of the programs that we have and will continue to support.

South by Southeast's annual concert series membership is comprised of both local and out-of-town residents. With the help of our partners we have been able to stage very small, intimate concerts featuring an incredible and vast array of musicians and entertainers. We have most recently found a "home" for our music feasts at the historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot and are grateful to the City of Myrtle Beach for this venue. We stage our music feasts six to eight times over the course of the year.

Tickets for our music feasts include a potluck dinner and beverages in addition to excellent music and socializing. Some food and beverages are provided by the organization for each show, but many members bring covered dishes, desserts, and other treats. This down home, southern custom is completely voluntary and by no means mandatory, and should not deter those from attending our events. We greatly appreciate all the fine food we have been blessed with at our shows.

Admission to the most South by Southeast Music Feasts is $25 per person but may be higher for some  special performances and events. Annual concert series members are offered a specially priced admission discounted by $5 or more. A reduced admission is sometimes available for students and others under 21.
